Kurikinton


My hometown is Nakatusgawa city which there is famous sweet in my city. It is “Kurikinton”. I like this very much so, I will write about it. “Kurikinton” means be mashed sweet potato with sweet chestnuts (Kuri). I wish you could enjoy eating Kurikinton my article.
I will write how to cook Kurikinton. We prepare ingredients. They are 500g chestnuts, 100g sugar and one table spoon of water. First, we boil chestnuts for 30 minutes to 40 minutes and before get cold, we take out contents from chestnuts. Second, we strain boiled chestnuts. Third, we put on chestnuts in a pot and mix it, sugar and water and continue to mix with a low flame until it be a fluffy. Forth, after we cool it, we take two table spoons it to wet handkerchief and we wring a cloth used in the tea ceremony.
There is a history about Kurikinton. Suya made it first and there is Suya in my hometown. This shop is famous shop in Japan. I am proud of this thing. It costs about 200yean. This brings us the real feeling of fall.
I have eaten Kuriknton since I was a child. When fall come, I want to eat it. I feel friendship it. When fall come, many mothers make it in my town. When I will be mother, I will make it.
